Cold front sweeps through North Central and Mid- Central regions, bringing moderate to heavy rain
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold front is moving into the southern region of Viet Nam.
A possibility of rain and cold conditions over parts of the northern region are expected on September 22 and 23 while temperatures are expected to drop in some mountainous areas.
It is predicted that from Saturday evening to Monday night, this cold spell impacts the midlands and deltas of the North and Hoa Binh, followed by some areas in the north-central and mid-central regions.
The weather turns cool, whilst the wind changes to the northeast at level 3 inland, and level 4-5 in coastal areas.
Due to the cold air’s influence, the north-central and mid-central regions may experience moderate to heavy, and localized very heavy rain, with common rainfall ranging from 50-150 mm, and potentially exceeding 200 mm in some areas.
The national agency warns of possible whirlwind, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
The Gulf of Tonkin will probably see the northeast wind at level 6- 7, with gusts of level 8; rough seas; and sea waves measuring 1.5 to 2.5 meters in height.
