Da Nang provides VND 25 billion in disaster relief assistance for northern localities

Da Nang will send four working groups to support and donate VND 25 billion in order to help northern provinces and cities overcome the aftermath of recent typhoon Yagi.

At the same time, the city will send two working groups to Ha Noi and Hai Phong to support these localities in cutting, trimming and cleaning trees.

The Party Committee, government and people of the city have also expressed the deepest sympathies and condolences to northern provinces and cities that have been affected by typhoon Yagi, especially the families whose relatives died in the storm and floods.

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang plans to mobilise cadres, civil servants, armed forces, people of the city, organisations, etc. to donate and carry out timely and effective support activities, contributing to helping the northern provinces and cities quickly overcome the consequences of the storm and stabilise people's lives.

Typhoon Yagi made landfall on Viet Nam's northern localities on September 7. A total of 55 people have been reported dead and missing, a series of urban trees have been uprooted, and many agricultural areas have been flooded and damaged due to prolonged heavy rains and floods caused by the typhoon in northern provinces and cities.
