The operation of the station is within the framework of the technical assistance project ‘Viet Nam Low Emission Energy Programme II’ (V-LEEP II) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) with funding by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The station in Da Nang, which is the third of its kind in Viet Nam after the capital city of Ha Noi and southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, is part of the Viet Nam National Energy Efficiency Programme 2019 - 2030, and helps reduce five per cent of gasoline and oil consumption in the transportation sector compared to the industry’s fuel consumption forecast and an energy-efficient urban model by 2025. The project is expected to help Da Nang transform into the first energy-efficient urban model in Viet Nam.

Selex Motors is one of Viet Nam's pioneering firms in the field of electric two-wheelers, having lately earned significant market share in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In order to expand the market and develop the electric vehicle ecosystem in Da Nang, Selex Motors is committed to providing a green, clean means of transport that does not emit pollution and noise, contributing to building Da Nang into a green, clean, and energy-efficient urban area.

In particular, Selex Motors attaches importance to developing a battery swapping station infrastructure system, to support people to easily access this service in a more convenient and cost-effective way than gasoline-powered two-wheeled vehicles. This will not only help expand the electric vehicle ecosystem in Da Nang but also contribute to the implementation of the development goals of the MOIT.

USAID and Da Nang had co-operated in the deployment of clean energy and advanced energy systems, such as rooftop solar and electric vehicles in 2019 - 2023. This US agency is a committed partner of Việt Nam in advancing the country’s transition to a clean, secure, and market-based energy sector
