The Prime Minister surveyed the sea reclamation research area of about 420 hectares near Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. The area is being considered for the construction of the Da Nang free trade zone.

He agreed on the policy of needing to reclaim the sea to create new land funds, expanding development space. However, he stressed the necessity to carefully study and calculate the issues of filling materials, and ensure that the land area after sea reclamation needs to perform the correct function according to the criteria of a free trade zone.

During his visit to the construction site of the Lien Chieu Port and the coastal route connecting to the port, Mr. Chinh praised the enthusiastic working spirit of the workers at the construction site during the public holiday of National Day (September 2).

He requested Da Nang, relevant ministries, enterprises, and investors to make more efforts to complete the construction of the shared infrastructure and the coastal road connecting Lien Chieu Port before August 30, 2025.

He, at the same time, stressed the need to build the Lien Chieu Port in a dual-use direction with multi-sector and multi-field functions; research and carefully assess environmental impacts; implement traffic connection projects; and mobilise central and local resources to complete the project on schedule.

The Prime Minister requested the city leaders to select investors with sufficient capacity to ensure publicity, transparency, and compliance with legal regulations; and mobilise resources on speed up the site clearance for the port and free trade zone projects.

He underlined the must-do for the city to take care of the material and spiritual life of families affected by these projects, ensuring that the new place of residence must be better than or equal to the old place of residence.

According to the Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, the shared infrastructure of the Lien Chieu Port project has a total investment of VND 3,426 billion, and the Prime Minister assigned the municipal People's Committee to be the managing agency.

The project has been 67% completed, and the value of the contract volume is approximately VND 1,770 billion VND, basically meeting the planned progress.

The construction cost of the coastal road connecting the Lien Chieu Port is VND 1,203 billion VND in total, funded by the central and the city budgets. To date, the project has been 33% completed.
