Schools across Da Nang plan to celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival simply and economically, aimed at sharing difficulties with people in northern localities suffering from damage caused by super typhoon Yagi and prolonged floods. Some of them have organised Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in combination with other donation and fundraising activities. This is a humane activity, both creating joy for pupils and multiplying the lesson of mutual love.

The Binh Minh Kindergarten based in Hai Chau District organised a fundraising programme called "Moon of Love". On sale at the programme were lanterns, dried foods, fruits, vegetables, etc. Not only decorating the stalls by themselves, the school's teachers got up early in the morning to go to the Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market to buy items at cheaper prices. All the money collected from the programme will be sent by the school to pupils in the northern mountainous region with the hope that they will soon return to school.

Many schools have organised fundraising programmes to support their peers who are facing difficulties and losses due to storms and floods. Most school pupils have been given a small amount of money by their parents to make donations to those in need, showing kindness, love, and sharing with the less fortunate in times of trouble.  Others have used their savings from small plans, the remaining change after each breakfast, Tet lucky money, and prizes from competitions for excellent students.
