US Ambassador visits and presents gifts to victims of AO in Da Nang

US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper and a delegation of US veterans and relatives of US soldiers visited the Care Centre for Victims of Agent Orange (AO) and Unfortunate Children in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang on Friday.

Mr. Nguyen Van An, Chairman of the municipal Association of Victims of AO/Dioxin, noted that ninety children of AO are being cared for at the two facilities in the city. The facilities provided them with opportunities for play, education, vocational training, and health improvement.

In his remarks, US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper affirmed that every child has a right to enjoy good things. He also shared the difficulties and disadvantages that victims of AO have to endure due to the consequences of war.

According to the ambassador, the year 2025 will mark 30 years since the normalisation of the US - Viet Nam diplomatic relations.

Over the past 30 years and the following years, the US Government remains committed to supporting and standing side by side with Viet Nam in its path to become a strong, independent, and resilient country.

During the visit, the ambassador and delegates offered gifts, expressed their support, and participated in cultural and sporting activities with the children of AO at the centre.
