Da Nang introduces QR readers under street name signs
Following a recent approval made by the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, certain streets, especially major downtown and tourist routes, in Da Nang will have QR (Quick Response) code readers installed under their street name signs in order to provide people with useful information about the areas, according to the proposal of the Da Nang Department of Transport.

With the installation of QR readers, people can use smartphones to scan the code.
The information will be extracted into an image file showing the history, location, length, width, and a biography of the street’s namesake. QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes that are made up of black-and-white squares which link to information such as images, videos, text, and web pages.
The QR code display boards are made of galvanized steel with a blue reflective background with white letters in both Vietnamese and English.
Previously, in 2022, the Da Nang Department of Transport gave a nod for the pilot installation of QR readers under street name signs in Son Tra District.
