Flash floods warnings issued for 60 districts in central Viet Nam due to impact of storm Trami
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on Sunday, issued a warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain in the provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai and Kon Tum.

According to national weather forecasters, localities from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai and Kon Tum received very heavy rainfall between 150-350mm in the past 18 hours (from 7:00 pm on October 26 to 1:00 pm on October 27).
The soil moisture model shows that some areas in the abovementioned provinces are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.
In the next 3-6 hours, the aforementioned localities will continue to have rain with the rainfall of 80-200mm from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue provinces; 40-120mm in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Kon Tum; and 20-80mm in Ha Tinh Province.
There is a warning of flashfloods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes in nearly 60 districts in the next 6 hours. These districts are Cam Xuyen, Huong Khe, and Ky Anh in Ha Tinh Province; Bo Trach, Le Thuy, Minh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Quang Trach, Dong Hoi, Tuyen Hoa and Ba Don in Quang Binh Province; Cam Lo, Dakrong, Gio Linh, Hai Lang, Huong Hoa, Dong Ha, Trieu Phong, and Vinh Linh in Quang Tri Province; A Luoi, Nam Dong, Phong Dien, Phu Loc, Hue city, Huong Thuy and Huong Tra in Thua Thien Hue Province; Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra in Da Nang; Bac Tra My, Dai Loc, Dong Giang, Duy Xuyen, Hiep Duc, Nam Giang, Nam Tra My, Nong Son, Phu Ninh, Phuoc Son, Que Son, Tay Giang and Tien Phuoc in Quang Nam Province; Son Tay and Tra Bong in Quang Ngai Province; and Dak Glei, Dak Ha, Dak To, Ia H' Drai, Kon Plong, Kon Ray, Ngoc Hoi, Sa Thay, Kon Tum and Tu Mo Rong in Kon Tum Province.
The impact of flash floods, landslides and land subsidence due to heavy rain can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives, cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles, and destroy civil and economic works, thereby causing damage to production, and economic and social activities.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing water congestion points and vulnerable locations to have preventive and response measures.
