Trade Union units in Da Nang ensure happy Tet for labourers
It's nearly two months to go until the 2025 Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. Aside from increasing production to serve the market, companies, enterprises and trade unions at all levels are planning to ensure that all trade union members and workers have a warm and complete Tet.

Ensuring salary, bonus and Tet gifts
The A Chau Architecture and Trade Co., Ltd. based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park currently has 350 employees in total. According to the company's Director Ha Ngoc Thong, the Board of Directors is basing on the production and business results in 2024 to plan the New Year and Lunar New Year bonuses in 2025 for workers, with the expected bonus level being equal to or higher than the previous year. Specifically, workers will receive a 13th month salary with a coefficient of 0.9 - 1.2 months of basic salary, and a Tet gift from the company.
Also, the company's Trade Union organisation will give Tet gifts, valued at VND1 million each, for its members. The unit proposes that the higher-level Trade Union support additional Tet gifts for members with serious illnesses or in difficult circumstances in order to ensure that all trade union members and employees have a warm and cozy Tet.
The company implements a 9-day Tet holiday schedule in accordance with State regulations. In case employees living far away want to return home early or take extra days off, the company will create conditions to provide maximum support.
At the Murata Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, in addition to the 13th month salary bonus equal to the December salary, the company has a winter bonus of half a month's salary multiplied by the A, B, C ranking coefficient of each employee.
Ms. Le Nguyen Khanh Huong, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, said that the unit plans to give Tet gifts in kind worth VND420,000 each to all trade union members; and 56 special gifts worth VND1 million each to support those in difficulty. At the same time, it proposes the higher-level Trade Union to support additional Tet gifts for trade union members with occupational diseases, serious illnesses, and difficult circumstances.
Similarly, the Trade Union organisation of the Thuan Phuoc Seafood and Trading JSC in Son Tra District plans to take care of Tet for nearly 1,500 members and workers with many diverse and rich activities.
Accordingly, the Trade Union organisation will give Tet gifts, worth VND 500,000 each; organise arts competitions and lucky draws; and present awards to advanced and excellent collectives and individuals with initiatives and creativity during the year. The total budget for implementing the abovementioned activities is about nearly VND1 billion.
Moreover, the Trade Union organisation deploys for union members to register for free coaches back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet.
Meanwhile, since mid-November 2024, the Pi Vina Da Nang Co., Ltd. based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park announced the 2025 Tet holiday schedule so that employees can proactively book tickets for trains and flights to return home for Tet celebration. Accordingly, the company will give employees 10 consecutive days off, from January 24 to February 2, 2025, creating conditions for employees from other provinces to have more time to celebrate Tet with their families.
Bringing Tet to trade union members
At the end of October 2024, the city’s Labour Confederation issued a plan to organize activities to care for trade union members, workers, civil servants, and labourers on the occasion of the upcoming Tet Festival.
The Trade Union organisations at all levels have implemented a variety of practical and meaningful activities to bring Tet to all trade union members and laborers.
The highlights will be the programme "Tet Reunion - Spring, Thanks for Party " and the 2025 Tet market for trade union members.
The municipal Labour Confederation coordinates with departments, branches, the Trung Vuong Theater, and the Youth Union to organise art programmes, cultural exchange activities between music groups, magic performances, nightly lucky draws and folk games to serve trade union members, workers, and people of all walks of life.
Besides, the Trade Union Tet Market will feature about 70-80 booths providing services and essential goods with stable prices, and attractive discounts and incentives, facilitating workers to shop for Tet.
The programme "Accompanying trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances" will offer 20,000 Tet gifts, each worth VND 1 million, to trade union members, workers and civil servants in difficult circumstances due to occupational accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, job loss and low income or to those affected by natural disasters, storms and floods.
As usual, the city’s Labor Confederation continues to organise the program "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2025" to bring trade union members and workers back home for Tet. Accordingly, the municipal Trade Union will arrange dozens of free coaches to take trade union members and their families home to celebrate Tet, departing from Da Nang to the provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai.
In addition, the municipal Trade Union will work with the Da Nang Railway Transport Enterprise to organize a "Trade Union Train", giving away 2,000 free train tickets for trade union members and their families to return home. The trains will depart from Da Nang to localities from Quang Binh Province to the North and from Binh Dinh Province to the South, while the Trade Union organisations at all levels will support VND 100,000/trade union member with food expenses to return home to celebrate Tet.
