Fines for littering and urinating in public places
The Da Nang People’s Committee has issued new regulations that levy fines on tourists and locals if they litter beaches.

The new regulations, for throwing garbage on beaches and in public places come with fines of between 2 and 22USD.
The new rules apply to tourists and local vendors providing services at beaches.
Law enforcers will patrol beaches and fine offenders on the spot during the current tourist season that runs through to September. Patrols will focus on beaches in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts.
Smokers are also targeted. They will be fined for discarding cigarettes on the sidewalks or on the beach, even if they attempt to stub the cigarette into the sand.
Tapping cigarette ash could be enough to catch the eye of the litter patrols.
Locals who throw away their household or domestic waste in public places will be fined between 4.5 and 9USD. Discarding domestic waste on sidewalks, streets, or in the city’s drainage systems will result in a hefty 13USD to USD18 fine.
Those who urinate or defecate will be hit with a fine of between 9 and USD13 for each incident.
