The departments of Police and Immigration in Da Nang have been jointly discussing the implementation of an online system for dealing with the registration of foreigners, both tourists and longer term residents, who are in Da Nang which will be an improvement on the existing manual declaration system.

The beneficiaries will be all foreigners in Viet Nam, the accommodation establishments where those foreigners are staying, the residency management agencies for foreigners, and other relevant units.

All hotels are already required to declare their foreign guests during their stays, but now the hotel staff can do this via the new online system which is available around the clock.  Similarly, other accommodation establishments can declare the information either via the online system or the manual declaration forms.  However, online declarations are being encouraged.

When a foreigner checks in for a stay in any accommodation establishment, the accommodation provider must visit the Immigration Office’s website to input the foreigner’s information.

After receiving the information, the local Immigration Offices will inform the local Border Guard stations if foreigners are temporarily residing in accommodation establishments near border areas.
