After the sucessful pilot implementation of the OSS mechanism at the Noi Bai International Airport from early this year, the General Department of Customs is ready to launch the national OSS system nationwide from mid-November this year.
To date, all airlines have confirmed that they will participate in the OSS mechanism offering their airline services.
The OSS mechanism allows users to send their information and related electronic documents to State management agencies through the national OSS portal to carry out such procedures as the exit, entry or transit of aircrafts. State management agencies will then issue clearance decisions through the national OSS portal. They are border gate customs, airport authorities, border gate police, animal and plant quarantine agencies, and border medical quarantine organisations.
The most important feature of the OSS aviation system is that airlines information will be electronically provided for government agencies to serve the management of airline vehicles.
The OSS mechanism is expected to save time and cost while ensuring transparency and reducing direct contact with State management agencies.
