Restaurants named bia to (bowls of beer) are popular with Da Nang’s residents and visitors.

This type of restaurant usually features simple architecture and spaciousness, with chairs and tables made of bamboo.  These give a customer a tranquil and refreshing feeling.

As indicated by its name, the beer is served in glazed terra-cotta bowls which have been stored in freezers.  Thanks to this, without the addition of ice cubes, the beer is kept cold and maintains its wonderful taste.  At present, many of the restaurants serve the popular brand name beers, mainly Tiger, Heineken and Larue.

In addition to the bowls of beer, some of the restaurants also serve more than 50 irresistibly delicious dishes, including roasted pork ribs served with beer, fried eels, roasted frog and squid, pot-au-feu made of chicken, seafood and a type of freshwater fish, and noodles stir-fired with seafood.

Those arriving by air can easily find one such restaurant because it is located in front of the entrance gate to the Da Nang International Airport.  Dishes here are offered at prices ranging between 50,000VND and 100,000VND each.  This restaurant has emerged as an ideal place for those who want to welcome or say farewell to their friends when they arrive in, or before they leave, the city.
