Japanese cuisine proves popular
Japanese cuisine has become ever more popular with Da Nang’s residents because of its secret recipes and unique decorative art.
Nguyen Chi Thanh Street is now home to 5 Japanese restaurants. They are Kita Guni I and II, Kachou Fugetsu, Irohanihaheto and Mat Troi Moc (Sunrise).
The Kita Guni, located at 122 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, was one of the city’s first Japanese restaurants. It is a popular venue for both Japanese visitors and local gourmets because of its delicious drinks and food, and its pure and cozy space.

Most of the chefs at the city’s Japanese restaurants are actually Vietnamese. They either have been trained by genuine Japanese culinary experts or have many years of experience as kitchen assistants in Japanese restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City or Ha Noi.
Currently, there are about 150 Japanese people who are living and working in Da Nang. They often visit these restaurants to enjoy a taste of home. Meanwhile, local residents arrive at the restaurants to try something different and discover a new cuisine culture.
