The annual Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Festival, one of Viet Nam’s biggest Buddhist festivals, takes place at Ngu Hanh Son District's Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Pagoda in the Marble Mountains Tourist Area on the 17th,18th and 19th days of the 2nd lunar month.

It was first organised in 1962 for the inauguration of the Avalokitecvara Buddhisattava statue in Hoa Nghiem Cave on Thuy Son (the Mountain of Water) - the highest of the five Marble Mountains.

After 2 years, the festival celebrated the inauguration of the Quan The Am Pagoda in Quan The Am Cave, where a stalactite shaped like Avalokitecvara had been found.  The festival did not take place after that until the Avalokitecvara Spirit Anniversary in 1991 (Tan Mui Year).  Ever since then, the festival has been held annually.
