Mural paintings convey message of safeguarding sea

Students from the Da Nang University of Technology and Sciences and young people in the Ly Son Island, Quang Ngai Province, joined hands to create a 300m coastal mural painting street.

Nguyen Van Lenh, a student at the Da Nang University of Technology and Sciences: “Through the image of the petrels, we would like to convey a message of safeguarding national sea and island sovereignty and protecting sea ecology as they are two hot issues which require people’s efforts.”.

More than 50 paintings depict the images of Vietnamese naval soldiers and marine creatures. They convey a message of protecting the sea and island and marine environment.

Nguyen Thi To Trinh, tourist from Quang Ngai said, “The paintings are beautiful. I think the mural street will attract more tourists to the island.”

Pham Van Vuong, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ly Son island: "We create the mural street in an effort to make the island’s landscape greener, cleaner and more attractive."

The paintings are expected to help tourists understand more about the life of the local people.
