Da Nang checks visitors from Republic of Korea
Amid the complicated developments of COVID-19, especially in the Republic of Korea, the central city of Da Nang is taking drastic measures to prevent the disease from spreading, particularly from Korean guests who have entered Viet Nam and stayed at hotels in the city.
Statistics from the municipal Tourism Department show the number of visitors from the Republic of Korea to the city has dropped by 70 percent due to epidemic fears. However, there are still several Korean tourists who have entered Viet Nam in small groups and are staying at hotels in the city. Accommodation facilities have taken measures to ensure their safety and collaborated with the police to prevent the possible risk of the disease spreading among the community.
At present, all localities in Da Nang, especially those with a high density of Korean tourists, are taking measures to check visitors’ information.
It is reported that there are over 3,700 Koreans in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts, of whom over 690 entered Viet Nam after Feb. 9. These people and those who have had close contact with them are being monitored closely.
