Buddhist-themed exhibition

A thematic exhibition entitled “The Quintessence of Ancient Vietnamese Buddhist Artifacts” will feature around 150 ancient artifacts which include paintings, sculptures, Buddhist woodblocks, worshipping objects and musical instruments dating back to between the 7th and the 8th centuries, plus others dating from the 19th to early 20th centuries.

Co-organised by the Museum of Da Nang and the Da Nang Buddhist Sangha, the exhibition aims to introduce local residents to the specific characteristics of the Vietnamese Buddhist cultural heritage, thus contributing to preserve, honour and promote our national culture.

Film festival

As part of the celebrations to mark the 68th anniversary of Viet Nam’s August Revolution (19 August) and National Day (2 September), a festival of Vietnamese films is being held in the city.
The Vietnamese films and documentaries being shown are: “Chop Mat Cung So Phan” (Fated Moment), “Hoai Vu Trang” (White Dance), “Ho Chi Minh Chan Dung Mot Con Nguoi” (Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man), and “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa Noi Ghi Dau Hon Thieng Dat Viet” (Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - Places Embedded within Viet Nam’s Sacred Soul).

News and arts photo exhibition

The exhibition, entitled “Sea and Islands of our Native Lands”, will feature about 80 photos taken by local amateur and professional photographers.  The photos on display will reflect the peaceful life of local residents, and give a glimpse of those involved in exploiting the sea’s resources and protecting the country’s sovereignty over its sea.  The event aims to raise the public’s awareness of the strategic location of Viet Nam’s sea and islands.

Traditional musical performances for domestic and foreign visitors

During the hour-long shows, domestic and foreign visitors will be treated to live Vietnamese traditional music, solo performances on traditional musical instruments, colourful-costumed dancers, humorous short sketches, and delightful folk songs.
