Journey to the West: Surprise

Dating from the 16th century, Journey to the West is one of the great classics of Chinese literature.  It has been adapted countless times for stage and screen and even in music and dance.  The story is probably best known to western viewers from the 1970s TV series Monkey, which was dubbed in English by the BBC.  This funny, action-packed new adaptation is the directorial debut of Xiao Xing Yi, who takes the role of Sand Monk. The cast also features rising Taiwanese star Bolin Chen.
