Photo exhibition entitled ‘Country in Spring’

The exhibition features 130 photos, taken by photographers from across the city, which reflect the special characteristics of the land and people of Viet Nam, and especially the beautiful and peaceful images of Da Nang.

The event aims to mark the 63rd anniversary of the Viet Nam Photography Day (15 March) and the 41st anniversary of the Liberation Day of Da Nang (29 March).  It has been co-organised by the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists, the Da Nang Artistic Photography Association, the Da Nang Photography Club, and the Hai Chau District Business Association.

The event will feature numerous solemn rituals, along with various exciting cultural and sporting activities, including ‘bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards), Tuong performance, and a coracle race.

Quan The Am Festival

This year’s festival will feature a number of solemn Buddhist rituals.  Included are the traditional offerings and preaching sessions, a solemn ritual to pray for peace and safety throughout the year, and the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Statue procession.  Most notably, there will also be various exciting cultural and sporting activities such as a poetry and music exchange, the floating of flower garlands and coloured lanterns on the river, a traditional boat race, ‘bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards), a Chinese chess competition, fascinating arts performances, and a running race.

Thanh Nien Newspaper Tennis Tournament 2016

Co-organised by the Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper and the Da Nang Tennis Federation, the event has 9 players participating.  The first prize winner will receive 40 million VND, whilst 20 million VND and 10 million VND will respectively go to the second and third prize winners.

Musical performance to commemorate the late musician Trinh Cong Son

Organised by the Canh Cung Media Company, the event marks the 15th anniversary of the death of musician Trinh Cong Son.  It will feature many popular singers, including Hong Nhung, Quang Dung and Duc Tuan.
