Clarinet and piano duet concert entitled ‘Duo Bel Canto - a Feast of Italian Music’

This concert features Duo Bel Canto comprising the Italian artistes Alessandro Vuono on piano and Antonio Arcuri on clarinette.  Duo Bel Canto is part of the Bel Canto Ensemble which was founded in 2010 with the aim of promoting Italian musical culture all over the world.

Over the past 6 years, Duo Bel Canto has performed in over 20 countries in Africa, America, Asia and Europe at a host of prestigious institutions and cultural and musical events.  They have also collaborated with many Italian and internationally-renowned artists.

Son Tra Book Week

A total of 40 stands will introduce new and interesting books released by well-known domestic publishing houses, book stores and book publishers.  There will also be a talk about Viet Nam's legitimate sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, along with competitions such as book-related story telling, drawings about the sea and islands, colouring, and clay modelling.

National Tuong (classic drama) and Traditional Folk Opera Contest

The contest is an annual rendezvous for professional artistes to showcase their talents through traditional arts performances.  It will feature 17 performances, of which 10 are classic drama.  Each performance will last from 90 to 150 minutes and will depict Viet Nam’s past battles against its enemies.

Organised by the city’s Events and Festival Organising Centre, the concert will feature violinist Sindri Lederer and pianist Antonio Koster from Germany, viola player Juliet White-Smith from the USA, cellist Zoe Martlew from the UK, and Trio Brio from Viet Nam.
