This festival will feature a colourful parade, along with many exciting performances such as dragon dance, a Japanese KIDS drum performance, magic, and fire and Hawaiian dance.

‘Truc Chi - Loi Cua Song’ exhibition

The exhibition will feature some arts pieces made from ‘Truc Chi’, including a 120m-long replica of a river. These works, which are done by 10 artists of the ‘Viet Nam Truc Chi Arts’ project during 9 months, will be displayed in combination with light, sound and video systems.

‘Truc Chi’ is a kind of paper made from bamboo pulp. The bamboo paper discoverer for contemporary arts is artist Phan Hai Bang who developed new techniques for the treatment of this material. Based on the traditional process of making the paper, Mr Bang created a new form of arts ‘Trucchigraphy’, in which artists can create their works on ‘Truc Chi’ paper.

Charity concert entitled ‘Warming Your Hearts’

Jointly organised by the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection, and the Huong Lam Club of Charities and Children's Rights Protection, the concert aims to raise funds for providing free surgery for 100 poor local children with eye defects.

This event will feature famous domestic singers: Tim, Nhat Ha, Thanh Yen, Duc Tuan, Phuong Anh, Ho Trung Dung, Le Thien Hieu, Ha Van, Quoc Dai, Vo Ngoc Khanh, Phi Thuy Hanh, and Hong Minh.

Contestants will create photographic masterpieces in line with assigned themes - under time pressure.

‘Charming Da Nang’ musical programme

This 60-minute programme opens with a stage presentation highlighting the city’s most impressive sites such as the Da Nang International Airport, the Han River and the tall buildings.  It is followed by delightful performances of singing, dancing and traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, each of them showcasing the culture and beauty of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.  Interestingly, there is a song named ‘Charming Da Nang’ which was written specifically for this programme.
