Taste of Australia 2018 in Da Nang

Within the framework of this programme, the Australian Government will host a culinary competition for young Vietnamese culinary students or recent graduates to show off their talents with the heat at the Ba Na Hills on Tuesday (17 April), and the final at Sheraton Da Nang on Friday (20 April).

In addition, the Australian Consulate-General will host the annual Taste of Australia Da Nang Family BBQ, a public outdoor community barbecue for the general public, Australians, Australian alumni and their families on Sunday, 22 April from 12.00pm to 6.00pm at The Ocean Villas Da Nang, Truong Sa Street, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District.

Aussie singer-songwriter Nick Barker will have a performance at this BBQ.

Tuong street performance

Apart from enjoying impressive Tuong performances, visitors will be introduced to the art of Tuong mask drawing and its dress codes. In addition, they will have the opportunity to have their photos taken in
Tuong costumes which will be available for hire at the event.

‘Charming Da Nang’ musical programme

This 60-minute programme opens with a stage presentation highlighting the city’s most impressive sites such as the Da Nang International Airport, the Han River and the tall buildings. It is followed by delightful performances of singing, dancing and traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, each of them showcasing the culture and beauty of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole. Interestingly, there is a song named ‘Charming Da Nang’ which was written specifically for this programme.
