Over the past 2 years, a section of Tran Hung Dao Street between its intersection with the Han River Bridge and the Bridge of Love Locks has become more vibrant and bustling than ever before with a boom in the number of street-side coffee shops, bars, restaurants and hotels.
According to representatives from the local tourism businesses, the section of Tran Hung Dao Street is considered one of favourite rest stops for both domestic and foreign visitors for sightseeing, going shopping or enjoying nighttime outdoor entertainment programmes.
This area is now home to many nice cafes offering breathtaking panoramic view of the city’s iconic bridges spanning across the Han River, especially its sparking images in the evening. Included are the T&T cafe, The Coffee House, the Art House, and the Danang Souvemis & Coffee.
Besides, there are numerous restaurants and bars featuring spacious and airy space filled with their eye-catching decorations, plus with rich menus.
With regard to tourist sites in the district, the Bridge of Love Locks has been very attractive to locals and visitors, especially young people, who have gone to sightseeing and taken souvenir photos.
This bridge was inspired from some famous love lock bridges worldwide such as the Pont des Arts in France, the Hohenzollern Bridge in Germany, the Ponte Milvio Bridge in Italy.
Another popular attraction for visitors is the Son Tra Night Market which is located along sections of Mai Hac De and Ly Nam De streets.
Since its operation in September 2018, the market has become an attractive place for travellers who want to spend the leisure time in the evening on going for a stroll, going shopping, enjoying entertainment services, exploring local cultural characteristics or relaxing.
It welcomes a nightly average of between 2,000 and 4,000 visitors, and this figure often increases to between 7,000 and 9,000 at weekends.
The night market features a total of nearly 200 stalls selling souvenirs, food and drinks, specialities, dried seafood, fashionable clothes, and others.
In addition to such local specialities as Quang noodles and ‘banh trang cuon thit heo’ (belly pork and vegetables wrapped in soft rice paper), food and drinks stalls are offering many foreign specialities like tokbokki (South Korea), and sushi and rice flour pancakes (Japan).
Apart from enjoying delicious dishes, gourmets also have the opportunity to watch amazing performances by local chefs.
Over the past year, the night market has helped the city deal with the current lack of its own special tourism products.
Over the last 3 years, the Tran Hung Dao street with the highlights of the Bridge of Love Locks and the Son Tra Night Market has become one of the city’s most inviting destinations at night for visitors from both home and abroad.
