After only over 3 months of operation, the Pokeman Restaurant, located at 80 To Hien Thanh in Son Tra District, Da Nang has captured much attention from its customers thanks to its quaint name and its delicious dish - Poke.

According to the restaurant’s owner, Poke is a type of Hawaiian salad that takes note of Hawaii’s wealth of ingredients and wide variety of cultural backgrounds. The word Poke itself means “to slice” or cut something across until it takes on a diced shape. This refers to the way the fish is sliced in poke bowls.

Traditional Poke is usually made with cubed ahi or yellowtail tuna that is tossed with a soy sauce (shoyu) and sesame oil, and served with raw onion, green onions, and chopped macadamia nuts. Poke is a healthy and delicious choice for lunch or dinner.

Most especially, customers can customise their Poke bowl to be exactly the way they want it.

In particular, they choose base ingredients (brown rice, greens, or mixed greens and brown rice), proteins (anything from tuna to salmon and shrimp) and toppings ( Japanese soybean, crab stick, kimchi, sweet corn, pink ginger, pineapple and mushroom).

Last, but not least, soy sauce, seaweed, and sesame oil are indispensable ingredients, making this nutritious dish even more delicious.

In addition to Poke, the restaurant also serves coffee, juices, and smoothies. It also says 'no' to plastic items by using bamboo and stainless steel straws, and glass cups. For delivery and takeaway services, the Poke dish will be packaged in paper boxes, and drinks are stored in glass bottles.

Notably, guests to Pokeman will be impressed with its minimalist architecture with white being its main colours.

Pokeman is a quiet spot where you can enjoy your poke in peace and quiet and wash it down with a tasty fresh juice
