Located about 10 km northeast from the centre of Da Nang, the 4,439ha peninsula which is around 700 meters above sea level is so inviting to domestic and international tourists thanks to its strikingly beautiful natural scenery, fresh air and diversified biodiversity.

Most of visitors to the peninsular are engaged in exploring the flora and fauna of the Son Tra Nature Reserve, especially unique beauty of red-shanked douc langurs, birds, trees, and flowers here, as well as hunting clouds or just simply enjoying the gorgeous views of nature from the peninsula's peak.

Also, the Son Tra Peninsula is highly recommended for truly breathtaking city views. There are many spots on the peninsular from which you can get the most mind-blowing city views of Da Nang such as the Ban Co Peak (Chess Board Peak), the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Tien Sa Lighthouse, and the helicopter base. The view of the city-lights at night from these spots is absolutely awe-inspiring.

From the viewing areas on the Son Tra Peninsula, your eyes are drawn to the intense blue of the water surrounding this tourist attraction packed with buildings. Also, you cannot take your eyes off the views of the Hai Van Pass in the far distance, cargo ships entering or leaving the Tien Sa Port, the Da Nang Administrative Center building, and more.

You can walk or drive vehicles on the peninsula. Whichever way you choose, you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views.

Besides experiencing the poetic scenery of Da Nang from above, from the Son Tra Peninsula, you can explore the lifestyle of the area's endangered red-shanked douc langurs.

US Douc Langur Foundation in Viet Nam Director Vu Ngoc Thanh, said the Son Tra Peninsula shelters over 300 red-shanked douc langurs which were declared endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2013. They are considered “Queen of primates” and iconic mascot of the peninsular, and the city as a whole, thanks to their distinctive and unique appearance.

"The Son Tra Peninsula is also the only place in the world where humans can easily observe this rare animal at quite close range with their naked eyes, even capture photos of them by their cell phones" Director Thanh added.

The charm of langurs which are sitting on branches or tree tops, and picking up leaves to eat also draws a great deal of attention from both domestic and foreign visitors.
