Thailand officially announces 2014 New Year celebration
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially announced this New Year’s celebration as “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2014”.
Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Thawatchai Arunyik made the announcement at the TAT head office, stating that the New Year’s countdown is an excellent means of sharing the country’s tourist destination and culture with tourists traveling to the country during the festive season.
The countdown venues will be held in seven places across the nation, including Bangkok , Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Pattaya, Hat Yai, and Phuket.
Furthermore, in order to accommodate the demand of those seeking a milder and more tranquil side of the celebration, there will also be activities geared towards the Buddhist travelers. They will include an overnight praying ceremony to welcome the New Year, which will be held at Chulalongkorn Ratchawittayalai in Ayutthaya province, and merit making at nine temples in the Bangkok area.
