Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia Sidarto Danusubroto left Hanoi on March 5 at the end of a successful official visit to Vietnam as a guest of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

At his talks with Chairman Hung and his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, the two sides showed their delight at the growing relations, especially in the time since they set up their strategic partnership last June.

They expressed hopes for the law-making bodies to step up their cooperation and supervision over the deployment of signed agreements so their people can benefit.

On the East Sea issue, the two sides shared the view of settling the issue by peaceful means and dialogue to contribute to maintaining stability in the region.

During the visit, the Indonesian speaker paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and toured his residential area and office. He also visited the home of late General Vo Nguyen Giap.
