Typhoon Hagupit claims at least 20 lives in Philippines

The number of people confirmed to die due to typhoon Hagupit in the Philippines rose to 21, according to the Philippine Red Cross.
Most of the victims drowned in floodwaters in the province of Eastern Samar where the typhoon had its first landfall.
Hagupit is the strongest tropical storm has hit the country in this year. Over 500,000 Filipinos were sent to evacuation centres.
In July this year, 100 people were killed as typhoon Rammasun struck the country.
In November last year, super typhoon Haiyan, the strongest storm ever recorded on land, claimed at least 7,350 lives as it devastated large parts of the central Philippines.
