Returning for a fourth year, KERAMIKA 2015 was kicked off at the Jakarta Convention Centre on March 19.

The four-day event continues to be the central arena for the industry to congregate in the largest ceramics-producing country in the Southeast Asia and one of the largest ceramic consumers in the world, Indonesia.

Event participants include domestic and international exhibitors from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Italy and 25 other countries showcasing products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Indonesian Minister of Industry Saleh Husin noted that the fair will help bolster the development of the country’s ceramic industry nationally and internationally.

The country’s three-decade-old sector is considered one of the nation’s leading industries. The event presents an opportunity for budding industries to exchange information and create partnerships between businesses and consumers, he added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesia Ceramic Industry Association (ASAKI), Elisa Sinaga asserted KERAMIKA plays an important role in assisting the growth of ceramic industries in the country by showcasing the latest ceramic designs, products and technology to domestic and international markets.

The event will include a number of activities including forums, design competitions, and distribution and logistics seminars for the sector.

KERAMIKA has gained significant momentum in Indonesia over the past 3 years, demonstrating the importance of the robust ceramic industry in the region.
