Last week, Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency Bammbang Soelistyo said the recovery operation has been terminated and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

He said the search agency will comb the lifted debris to ensure no human remains are inside before handing over the pieces to air crash investigators.

AirAsia flight QZ8501 went down on December 28 2014 in stormy weather during a short trip from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore with 162 people on board.

Only 103 bodies have been recovered so far.
