Indonesia develops ten tourism sites

Indonesia’s tourism sector has plans to develop ten new destinations that are expected to help the country attract ten million tourist arrivals in 2015.

The sites include Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Thousand Islands in Jakarta, Mount Bromo in East Java, and Labuan Bajo fishing town in Nusa Tenggara region.

Well-known Bali has become too familiar while the potential of other islands are still tremendous to be tapped.

Indonesia’s non-smoke industry has set the goal to increase the number of visitors to 20 million by 2020, thus creating jobs for seven million from the current three million.

The archipelago nation is home to more than 17,000 islands in every shapes and sizes.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has just signed a decree on visa exemption for citizens of 75 countries in a move to boost foreign tourist arrivals and the country’s economy.
