Thailand arrests additional suspects in Bangkok blast

A number of suspects in Erawan shrine bombings, which killed 20 people and injured over 120 others, were arrested abroad, Thai police announced on December 3.

According to Lieutenant General Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul, deputy national police chief, the arrested people, including Thai nationals and foreigners, were detained in foreign countries.

He said that relevant authorities are working with the foreign and justice ministries in these countries to arrange the extradition of these suspects to Thailand.

To date, Thai police have issued arrest warrants for 17 suspects in the bombing, several of whom were believed to have fled to other countries.

Last month, two suspects were arrested and accused of 10 charges, comprising possession of explosives without permission, premeditated murder and bombing. They will be prosecuted in February, 2016.
