US, Singapore to hold 4th strategic partnership dialogue in Singapore

US Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Russel will travel to Singapore from January 21 – 23 to attend the fourth annual US – Singapore Strategic Partnership Dialogue.

The US Department of State announced that Assistant Secretary Russel will lead the US delegation at the dialogue with Singaporean government officials.

He will also meet with members of the local business and academic communities and give remarks at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

The third US – Singapore Strategic Partnership Dialogue was held in Washington DC in February 2015.

A joint statement of the event said the dialogue served to enhance the excellent bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership between the US and Singapore.

The two sides also discussed the strategic importance of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) , disputes in the East Sea, developments in Northeast Asia, and regional institutions such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), East Asia Summit (EAS), and ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
