Malaysia arrests 6 with links to IS
Malaysian authorities have arrested 6 of its citizens for suspected involvement in activities related to the self-claimed Islamic State (IS), announced Malaysian police on May 3.

The 4 men and 2 women were captured in counter-terrorism operations held in several states of Malaysia from March 24 to April 25.
The police said one of the female suspects was detained once by Turkish authorities in last February when she was trying to travel to Syria to join IS. The other female suspect was accused of promoting terrorism propaganda through the social media platform of Google Plus.
Of the male suspects, two were accused of smuggling fire arms from southern Thailand. The third man was arrested at the airport after engaging in militant activities in Syria. The last one was believed to use Facebook to promote terrorism as well as a plot to attack a mosque in the northern Penang state of Malaysia.
The police are seeking for another suspect, Muhammad Muzaffa Arieff Bin Junaidi, aged 27, who had fled to southern Thailand with various weapons.
