The 13 new ministers bring the total number of Cabinet members to 26. The first batch of 13 was sworn-in on 21 May.

After the victory of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) alliance in the general election on 9 May, the full list of the 51 cabinet members includes Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Deputy Prime Minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, 26 ministers and 23 deputy ministers.

Among the cabinet members, Mohamad Sabu from the People's Justice Party (Amanah) is named as defence minister, while Muhyiddin Yassin from the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (PPBM) is the minister of home affairs.

PM Mahathir Mohamad appointed Lim Guan Eng from the Democratic Action Party (DAP) as the minister of finance and Saifuddin Abdullah from the People’s Justice Party (PKR) as the foreign minister.

In the 9 May general election, the PH alliance had won 118 of parliament's 222 seats, exceeding the simple majority required to rule. The alliance comprises four parties – the PPBM, DAP, PKR and Amanah.
