The king will be officially crowned on 4 May and a celebration procession will be held on 5 May.
The king will meet the public and foreign diplomats on 6 May.
Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn became King Rama X in December 2016, after his farther King Bhumibol Adulyadej – Rama IX – passed away in October the same year, at 88.
The coronation has been delayed until a year-long period of mourning for King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
King Rama X is Thailand’s head of state, with power to sign legal documents for their promulgation and witness officials swearing in. He is also the nominal leader of the army, court and government.
