Cambodia hosts nearly 1 million tourists on Lunar New Year
Cambodia welcomed approximately 1 million domestic and international visitors during the 2019 Lunar New Year holiday, up 8% against the same period last year.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, the numbers of domestic and foreign travellers saw annual increases of over 11% and over 2.5%, respectively.
During the period, Siem Reap province, which houses the Angkor Wat temple complex, served more than 90,000 arrivals, rising about 4% on year. Of the sum, 40,000 were foreigners.
Meanwhile, 20,000 holiday-makers flocked to the popular eco-tourism destination Mondulkiri, representing an annual increase of 12%.
In 2018, Cambodia recorded more than 5 million tourists visiting the country, with tourism contributing 32.4 percent to the national GDP. It set a goal to push the figure to 12 million in 2025.
