Thailand records first COVID-19 death after over 100 days

Thailand logged its first COVID-19 death after more than 100 days on 18 September, bringing the nation’s fatalities to 59.

Director-General of the Medical Science Department of Thailand Somsak Akksilp said the deceased was a 54-year-old Thai man who returned to the country earlier this month.
He was treated at a hospital in Bangkok capital for two weeks.
The total number of cases in Thailand had risen to 3,497 as of 18 September, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
