Indonesia announces initial success in controling COVID-19

President Joko Widodo on December 6 said Indonesia is one of the five countries in the world that have managed to control the COVID-19 pandemic at level 1.

He said it shows the nation's ability to deal with challenges, turning difficulties and challenges into opportunities.
According to him, Indonesia has been very careful in issuing policies so that it is able to control the COVID-19 pandemic and restore the economy simultaneously.
In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 196 new cases of COVID-19, bringing its caseload since March 2020 to 4,257,685.
The same day, the Lao Ministry of Health confirmed 889 new infections, down 475 cases from the previous day.
Laos has to date logged 80,722 cases and 210 deaths.
