The Governors of Battambang and Pailin provinces of Cambodia have met their counterpart in Thailand’s Chanthaburi province to discuss the re-opening of border gates to allow legally permitted Cambodian workers to return to work in Thailand.

Thailand's newspaper The Nation reported on December 4 that the governors had look into facilitating travelling procedures for Cambodians working in Chanthaburi despite the COVID-19 pandemic, citing the Battambang provincial administration.

According to the Battambang authorities, Thai authorities will soon re-open check points at the border between Battambang and Chanthaburi for lawfully-employed migrant workers. Workers will only be allowed to enter Thailand for work when they show proof of full vaccination and negative test result for COVID-19. They will also have to go under quarantine in Thailand.
