Mr Pham Viet Hung, the Head of the Authority noted that the meeting offered a good opportunity for his unit to listen to and sort out any difficulties facing local businesses, thereby helping them promote their production activities.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Thuan Phuoc Seafood and Trading Corporation, Mr Tran Van Linh, asked the Authority to promptly take back under-used or unused land at local IPs.  The revoked land should be leased to businesses which are in desperate need of the land for production activities.
With regard to wastewater treatment, Mr Linh highlighted the importance of joining efforts by infrastructure developers and other businesses operating in the Tho Quang Seafood Services IP to enhance their environmental improvement activities there to ensure sanitation.

As for administrative reforms, the Vice Director of the Kad Industrial S.A Viet Nam, Mr Ho Si Tan, asked for help from relevant local agencies to promote the online handling of administrative procedures for local businesses.  This, thereby, will help businesses, especially foreign-invested ones, find it easer to apply for the re-issuance of work permits for their foreign employees if they need to employ foreigners continuously.

Under the current national laws, each work permit is now valid a maximum of 2 years and it is withdrawn upon expiration.  Most notably, foreign nationals who want to work in Viet Nam will be able to acquire employment permits online, via the web portal at http://dvc.vieclamvietnam.gov.vn, starting from 2 October.  The new service is applied to foreign nationals who work in Viet Nam, and enterprises and organisations that are entitled to employ foreign employees.

Also at the meeting, representatives from the Authority answered many questions raised by the participating businesspeople.  Others beyond the Authority's capacity to solve, will be continued being sent to local relevant agencies for effectively handling.

It was reported that, between January and September, the Authority granted investment licences to 9 new FDI projects worth 10.5 million USD and 25 domestic ones totalling over 544 billion VND.  Most notable amongst them is the Yusen Logistics Vietnam Co Ltd with its registered investment capital of 116 billion VND.

As of 15 September, local IPs had attracted 459 projects, 345 of which are domestic ones totalling 15,878 billion VND, and the remainder are foreign-invested ones worth over 1 billion USD in total.
