Deputy PM checks preparations for APEC

Over last weekend, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh checked the preparations for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW) which is scheduled to take place in Da Nang in November.

To date, the construction of infrastructure and facilities at all hotels, convention centres, the International Media Centre, and other main venues which will host official and sideline activities of the forthcoming AELW, have been already completed on schedule.

Deputy PM Minh, who is also Head of the National Committee for APEC 2017, praised the Da Nang and Quang Nam Province authorities, sub-committees, the APEC 2017 National Secretariat and relevant agencies for their great efforts in preparing for this international-scale event.

While approving scenarios for the AELW, the national leader urged relevant organisations to ensure the success of this important event.  He also remarked that the utmost safety, security, and food safety and hygiene must be guaranteed, as well as the safety for leaders, official delegates, invited guests, journalists and other participants at the AELW must be ensured.

Moreover, Deputy PM Minh asked ministries, and government departments and agencies which are members of the National Committee for APEC 2017, along with the Da Nang and Quang Nam Province authorities, to complete all preparations for this event.  In addition, he highlighted the importance of effective coordination amongst relevant agencies to ensure no mistakes have been made.

Furthermore, Deputy PM Minh urged the Da Nang and Quang Nam Province authorities to complete floral and lighting decorations of streets at their localities, as well as to promote the advertisement activities of the beautiful images of Viet Nam to international friends during the AELW.
