In addition, the meeting aimed to gather constructive opinions regarding the socio-economic issues, effective business support measures and the enhancement of the investment environment in the city.

In his remarks at the meeting, Secretary Nghia affirmed the city authorities’ top priority in implementing such issues as the opening of public walkways to local beaches along coastal routes in Ngu Hanh Son District, the planning work at the former Song Thu shipyard, and the implementation of the Central Square project in Hai Chau District, the Da Phuoc International Urban Area project and the Dai Duong (Ocean) Park.

The city’s party chief also revealed that the city would focus on implementing personnel plans and urban development orientations in the coming time, especially accelerating the progress of the western part of the city.

It is the fact that Hoa Vang is 5 times larger than the remaining local districts, but it now can supply only around 20% of the city’s total volume of agricultural products. Therefore, any constructive ideas from the general public to boost the growth of this suburb district are always welcomed.

With regard to local business support measures, the meeting’s participants underlined a must-do for the local authorities to assist local small and medium-sized enterprises to access business premises.  More favourable conditions should be created for conducting mergers and acquisitions, along with the restructuring of local businesses in a bid to enhance their global economic integration.

Ms Pham Thi Minh Trang, the Chairwoman of the city’s Female Entrepreneurs' Association, underlined the importance of the city authorities’ special attention given to local businesswomen, especially female workers, with a focus on developing more cultural establishments and entertainment areas at local industrial parks.

Mr Pham Kim Son, the Chairman of the city’s Software Association, suggested that special heed should be paid to giving more support to the local software business community in the current context of the rapid growth rate of this sector.  Alongside tourism, IT should be developed into a local spearhead economic sector.

In his closing remarks, Secretary Nghia highly applauded the construction recommendations and ideas mentioned above for the sake of the city’s progress.  He also affirmed the city’s stance on accelerating the local cultural development based on the locality’s rich, long-standing socio-cultural background.
