Da Nang, China's Shandong target higher level of cooperation

Speaking highly of the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and China’s Shandong Province over the past 30 years, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong suggested the two sides continue to further strengthen their cooperation in areas of their strength during his Tuesday meeting with Mr. Song Junji, Vice Governor of Shandong Province.

During the reception, Vice Chairman Cuong informed his Chinese guest about the city’s socio-economic development situation and its further development orientation.

He also expressed his delight at fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation programmes with Shandong Province over the past nearly 30 years in such spheres as politics, investment, trade, tourism and culture.

Viet Nam in general, and Da Nang in particular, attach special importance to the development of cooperative relations with China and its localities. China currently ranks 2nd in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang. In 2023, the central coastal city welcomed about 179,000 Chinese tourists, Mr. Cuong revealed.

Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong requested the Chinese guest to introduce Da Nang's investment environment to Shandong Provincial investors, as well as promote connection with potential businesses in the fields of investment, trade and high technology.

He also underlined the need for the two localities need to strengthen people-to-people, cultural, sports and educational exchange activities in a bid to contribute to deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong also thanked Mr. Song Junji for creating the best conditions for two working delegations of Da Nang to visit and work in Shandong Province in September 2023.

In reply, the Chinese visitor also thanked the Da Nang leader for the respectful welcome, highly appreciating the good cooperation between the two localities in recent times.

Vice Governor Song Junji voiced his desire that Da Nang and Shandong Province will promote cooperation in increasing exchanges of delegations at all levels, and the sharing of experiences in teaching political theory between Shandong Provincial Academy of Administration and the Da Nang School of Politics.

At the same time, the two localities should lay an emphasis on fostering their bilateral cooperation in such aspects as high technology, tourism, maritime, seaports, logistics, education, and cultural and people-to-people exchange in the coming time, Mr. Song Junji noted.
