On 15 September, a local young couple, both aged 20, committed suicide by jumping off the district’s Cam Le Bridge due to their family-related stress.  Soon after, Mr Leo and his wife, both of whom were aboard their own fishing boat on the namesake river, came to the jumpers’ rescue in a quickly fashion.

Finally, the lives of the suicidal couple were saved despite a high tide and strong currents at that time.  In particular, one day later, the family members of the survivors gave money to Mr Leo and his wife to express their gratitude for this couple's good deeds, but the kind rescuers refused.

Previously, in May, Mr Leo had also rescued another jumper at this ‘suicide bridge’.
