In particular, from 4-30 January, a total of 3,762 units of blood were collected from a large number of donors from across the city.

Blood donation campaigns have recently been organised at the Vocational Training Junior College No5, the Duy Tan University, and Ngu Hanh Son District, which together helps to collect 785 units of blood in total.

Similar campaign is taking place at the city-based Vinmec International General Hospital to collect up to 300 units of blood to use in emergencies and general treatment at local hospitals.

In addition, youth union organisations of the DA NANG Newspapers, the Viet Nam News Agency (VNA) representative office in the Central-Central Highlands region, and the city’s branch of the State Treasury, are joining efforts to organise the 1st Voluntary Blood Donation Day entitled ‘Red Drops of Love’.  The event will take place at 1st floor of the VNA representative office at 81 Quang Trung in Hai Chau District between 7.00am and 10.30am on 10 February.  A total of over 200 units of blood are expected to be collected from 350 local generous blood donors at the event.

Mr Doan Van Hoa, Chief of Staff of the municipal Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, remarked that the city is now home to a total of 7 voluntary blood donation clubs with their members willing to give blood for urgent situations from local hospitals, especially during Tet festival.
