Ensuring transparent support policies for businesses
On Tuesday, the Vice Chairman of Da Nang’s People’s Committee and Head of the city’s Steering Board for the “Year for Businesses 2014” programme, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, paid an inspection visit to the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment. His visit was to check the Department’s implementation of the programme.
The Department has ensured transparency in the granting of land use rights certificates, and in land allocation and land lease procedures, plans to effectively use land resources, and other related aspects. In addition, business land-use outside local industrial parks has been carefully checked and more land has been leased to businesses which make commitments to use the land to conduct production activities. The Department has also strictly abided by the Law on Land 2013.

As for the main tasks for the remainder of this year, the focus will be on inviting contractors to bid for local investment projects on leased land. Special attention will be paid to issuing policies relating to land use fee exemptions and reductions for local projects whose developers appeal for capital contributions from organisations and individuals. In addition, the Department will increase its checks and inspections on land use by local organisations and businesses, and impose strict penalties on land-related violations.
Vice Chairman Khuong highly appreciated the Department’s recommendations about gathering land-related information every 6 months. This will allow both domestic and foreign investors to seek more investment opportunities in the city. He also stressed the need to enhance dialogue with local businesses to deal with unexpected land-related issues, as well as to build an environmental impact assessment mechanism.
