Efforts to help businesses overcome difficulties
The 1st dialogue between the Da Nang authorities and representatives from 16 local businesses took place in the city last Friday afternoon. The event, which is to be held twice a month, is part of plans by the Steering Board for the city's “Year for Business 2014” programme. The purpose is to help local businesses overcome their difficulties in the context of the financial crisis.
During the event, the participants raised 15 complaints about the performance over recent months of the departments of Natural Resources and the Environment, Customs, Taxation and Construction, the Development and Investment Fund, the credit guarantee fund for local small and medium-sized enterprises, and the local banks.

After listening to their complaints, the city’s authorities urged the Taxation Department to change its working attitude in order to provide better services for local businesses. The funds were asked to speed up the disbursement of capital to facilitate local enterprises to develop their business. The focus was on organising interdisciplinary meetings to resolve issues relating to many departments and agencies. It was suggested that any issues which cannot be resolved by local relevant departments should be submitted to the Standing Board of the municipal Party Committee.
After 2 months of operating the 0511 388 1888 hotline and email namdoanhnghiep@danang.gov.vn, the Steering Board has received a total of 60 complaints from local businesses. They have been passed on to the relevant departments and agencies to investigate and sort out.
