Tien Sa Port upgrade discussed
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Nguyen Van Cong, and some researchers from the Japan International Cooperation Agency discussed the implementation of the second stage of Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port upgrade.
The main topics discussed were the building of more container wharves to receive 50,000 DWT ships, adjacent sub-wharves, a space for ships to turn round, and land reclamation work.
After the improvements, Tien Sa Port is expected to become one of the largest deep-sea ports in Viet Nam. The 120 million USD project will include the development of wharves able to handle 50,000 DWT container ships, between 30,000 and 70,000 DWT ships, and 100,000 GRT cruise ships, the building of storage areas and utilities on an area of 16.34ha, and the dredging of the port’s entrance channel and area for ships to turn round.
